Action Research of Integrating Information Technology with Teaching “phase of the moon and tides” – An Example of Students in 9th Grade, Dashe Junior High School / 以資訊科技融入「月相與潮汐」教學之行動研究-以大社國中九年級學生為例

碩士 / 義守大學 / 資訊管理學系碩士班 / 97 / For the change of the times and to welcome the coming of information society, our government has started to set information education into action since 1982 and keeps improving the information equipment in elementary and junior high school. So far, computer-assisted instruction method has grown into the integrated stage. Most students have interest in astronomy; however, because of the effect of teaching methods and learning attitudes, students’ learning achievement stays still in the mid-low stage.
The experimental samples are the third grade students of Da-She Junior High School located in Kaohsiung County. The researcher applies different teaching methods- computer-assisted instruction method and traditional lecture-based learning to unit ” Phase of the moon and tide “ and use ANCOVA to analyze the difference of their science learning achievement and attitude in different groups, individuals and teaching methods.
Through the research, there are four conclusions from the results:
1.The researcher applies computer-assisted instruction method and that can develop the characteristics and functions of Microsoft Powerpoint. Teachers can develop their teaching ability through new ways of teaching methods and action research.
2.To all the students, there are no remarkable differences between “computer-assisted instruction method” and “traditional lecture-based learning” in students’ science learning achievement. It is shown that middle level students in the experimental group got higher improvement than those in the control group. There are no remarkable differences in high level and low level.
3.To all the students, there are remarkable differences between “computer-assisted instruction method” and “traditional lecture-based learning” in students’ science learning attitudes. For a further study toward high, middle and low level students on how much progress they made. It is shown that high-, middle-, and low-level students in the experimental groups got higher improvement than those in the control groups.
4.Applying computer-assisted instruction method to unit ” Phase of the moon and tide “ can have middle-level students make the most progress.
