A Study of Jiang Zao-ru and His Chinese Poetry / 江藻如及其漢詩研究

碩士 / 南華大學 / 文學系碩士班 / 97 / Jiang Sheng-de is also known as Jiang Zao-ru or Jiang Siang-e or Jiang Ciou-pu, and Jiang Hong-hua is his infant name. He comes from Fujian Province Yongding County. He was born in 1863 and died in 1929 when he was 60 years old. Jiang''s ancestors lived in Fujian Province Tingjhou State Yongding County Gaotou Village. They arrived at Taichung Natun Litodian at first, and then immigrated to Taiwan and finally settled down in Hsilo.Jiang was always in the mood for homesickness. He had been back to hometown many times in his whole life. On the one hand he wanted to buy estates to manage for his family, on the other hand he looked for the way to back to school for keeping participate in the test of being Juren. But on the condition of being frustrated both in his career and study, he decided to go back to Yunlin County Hsilo Street,Taiwan .There he was engaged in local Sinology education and acted as a part-time writer and consultant for Tan Club of Hsilo.
 
 This paper''s chapter arrangement and the scope are presented as follows. The first chapter is Introduction. The second chapter elaborates Jiang''s historical background and the family background biography which is from Cing Dynasty to the Japanese Rule Time. I also inspect Jiang''s family background and the biography outline, as well as which poetry club he participated in and whom he made friends to. The third chapter searches out and analyzes one by one to Jiang''s Han poetry works according to its content. The fourth chapter summarizes Jiang''s poetry creation characteristic and the value of literature. The fifth chapter draws a conclusion of this paper and I hope this paper may prompt the future studies of classical poetry research in Taiwan.
 
 Dr. Cheng Ting Kuo had said that:Without the attentive research to their lives and works, the achievement and contribution of the poets who had once devoted themselves silently will be forgotten by the people for time goes by. For an outburst of enthusiasm and mission of historical inheritance, I hope I can do my best to study Taiwan literature material of the Japanese Rule Time and put it in order. By f studying the poets and their club of Yunlin Hsilo area, I want to provide literature development''s traces and materials in Yunlin area for future studies.
