碩士 / 南華大學 / 國際暨大陸事務學系亞太研究所碩士班 / 97 / The research aims to reappraise the influence of so-called "Chinese Taipei" formula on political interaction and athletic interchange which are between Taiwan and China. Greater China includes both Taiwan and China, although the forms of government are differentiate between democracy and dictatorship, which influence with each other. On December 15, 2008, they started that the Three Links which include direct postal, transportation (especially airline), and trade links between Taiwan and China, opening the interaction of both governments. The athletic interchange are between Taiwan and China, not only follows the interchange of business development better and better, and increases the value of scholarly research; In addition, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games were already closing satisfactorily, The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung and 21st Summer Deaflympics Taipei 2009 will be holding in Taiwan, the world sports will look at the athletic interchange which are between Taiwan and China.
The athletic interchange which are between Taiwan and China started on April 6, 1989, when the former Chief Secretary of the ROC Taiwan Olympic Committee and the former President of the Chinese Olympic Committee signed the agreement, "The Sport delegations and organizations from Taiwan region visiting China for Competitions, Conferences or activities shall be carried out in accordance with the related regulations laid down by the International Olympic Committee. It is here by agreed that all the Chinese referring to the name of sport delegations organizations from Taiwan region in the documents, manual, correspondences and name boards, or from broadcast, complied, issued or delivered by organizing committee shall be Chunghwa Taipei, (Chinese Taipei)." However, the name so-called "Chinese Taipei" has spilled into apolitical arenas. China has successfully pressured some religious organizations and civic organizations to refer to Taiwan of the ROC as so-called "Chinese Taipei". The Lions Club used to refer to Taiwan of the Republic of China as so-called "Chinese Taipei", but it now uses the name "Taiwan MD 300". Both the International Monetary Fund (IMF). and the World Bank refer to Taiwan of the Republic of China as so-called "Chinese Taipei", and "Taiwan" does not appear on the member countries list of both organizations. The International Council for Science (ICSU) also refers to Taiwan of the Republic of China as so-called "China Taipei", right below "China CAST". Taiwan of the Republic of China is a member economy of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and its official name in the organization is so-called "Chinese Taipei". It is also an observer in the World Health Organization (WHO) under the name so-called "Chinese Taipei". Therefore, in this research, I proposed the suggestion that uses the name "Taiwan" and not effect political interaction and athletic interchange which are between Taiwan and China.
