Numeric Simulation on the Near-Field Tsunami around Taiwan / 台灣沿海近域海嘯之數值模擬分析

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 海洋環境工程研究所 / 97 / The main purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the whole circumstance that tsunami transmits along the Taiwan coast line by adopting the earthquake parameter of Harvard CMT, as well as to simulate the run-up process that tsunami propagates from open sea towards the nearby coastal area by utilizing Multi-Grid Coupled Finite Difference Numerical (MGCFDN) model. Linear shallow water wave equation (LSWWE) and nonlinear shallow water wave equation (NSWWE) are used in MGCFDN model for calculating precise data according to different coordinate system. In addition, MGCFDN model takes advantage of the leap-frog scheme of finite difference grid system (FDGS) in practice. Furthermore, using moving boundary method in adjacent coast in order to acquire more accurate result from tsunami wave as to approaching reality situation.
The outcome has been verified in accordance with the recorded tide-gauge data of tsunami in Hua Lian on 15 November 1986. Additionally, identical results in wave distribution situation of tsunami water level change are found, comparing with these real tsunami propagations in Tai Tung- Cheng Gung on 23 December 1978, Hua Lian- Shiou Lin on 31 March 2002, and Ping Dong- Heng Chuen on 12 December 2006, respectively. In conclusion, this study shows the MGCFDN model enables an accurate numerical simulation in the distributed data of tsunami along Taiwan coastline and the tsunami wave influenced by the topography in the coastal waters. It also demonstrates that the simulated results can be selected to suffice for future reference of tsunami warning systems in east Taiwan and south Taiwan.
