碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 營建工程所 / 97 / For a slender type bridge system, such as cable-stayed bridges constructed by the orthotropic steel deck system, lateral bracing systems are needed to provide the torsional rigidity. However, the distortion-induced fatigue may become significant with such lateral bracings. In this study, numerical analysis was carried out to examine the effect of the lateral bracings, made of circular hollow section, on the fatigue behavior of the orthotropic steel deck system ,such as RAMA IX cable-stayed bridge. Both the stress-induced fatigue problem and distortion-induced fatigue problems are included in this study. The parameters examined in this study including the thickness of the circular tube, the angle of the lateral bracings and the connection length of the circular tube and gusset plates. Based on research results, it is found that the enlarged stress is significant and it is strongly suggested to be considered in the detail design of steel bridge systems with lateral bracings both in design and construction stage.
