碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 熱帶農業暨國際合作系所 / 97 / The objective of the study is to investigate the activity content and arrangement, satisfaction degree and agreement degree in benefits of the Marlin Festival at Eastern Coast area of Taiwan. Through the literature review, the questionnaire and key points of interview were designed. Data from received questionnaire was processed and analyzed.
Results obtained showed that visitors have averaged 3.82 high satisfaction degree in eating special farm and fishery products and delicious food during the Marlin Festival period. The sale of farm and fishery products can be increased and the local industry and the fame of sightseeing can be raised through the festival.
In the aspect of eco-environment, visitors gained the knowledge about the marlin through the introduction of marlin ecology and the exhibition of fishes around eastern coast which led to a high satisfaction degree of 3.90. Visitors understand marlin and fish eco-system at eastern coast after the visiting of aquarium. Visitors can get acquaintance in eco-system of eastern coast which will benefit to the eco-conservation of the ocean.
In the humanity and social aspects, the painting and drawing of baby marlin and fish rubbing gained high satisfaction degree of 4.00 and 3.97. Visitors can understand the different kinds of marlin through painting and rubbing activity that can achieve goal of the eco-environment education and the dissemination of the concept of conservation. The inherited hunting marlin by hand-thrown dart, a special way of fishery at Chenggong Township and the ecological way of fishing that possessed both of humanity and social values is worth preserving.
At last the paper proposes following five Suggestions for improvement of Marlin Festival. Firstly, information dissemination and activity are promoted through the Internet and public media before the opening of the festival. Secondly, experience, lesson and information obtained from the previous festival should be collected and inherited for improvement and new innovation of the festival. Thirdly, the sponsors design the detailed introduction of marlin, introduction and extension the culture by hand-thrown dart in fishing marlin to let visitors understand. Fourthlty, the sponsors encourage chefs to creative new marlin dishes to develop the marlin dinning culture. Fifthly, the sponsors design the more interesting activity to attract visitors to come, to stay longer, and to overnight at Taitung County in order to increase the benefit of marlin festival and promote the sustainable development of local industry and culture.
