碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 國語文學系中國文學碩士在職專班 / 97 / The research direction of this thesis is the novels, which take females as main theme, composed by the female writer, Lin, Hai-yin in the 50s of the 20th century. Generally speaking, the female writers came from Mainland China to Taiwan in the 40s and 50s of the 20th century all writes about themes such as "Anti-Communism" or "Homesickness". However, Lin, who came to Taiwan after World War II, was influenced by the liberalism thinkings and the education of the enlightenment from the women''s liberation movement after May Fourth Movement. Her novels seldom touch political issues, on the other hand, focus on the issues of romance, marriage, career, family and self-identification.

Lin writes down the emotions, circumstances, social interactions and the process of their self-awarenesses under the atmosphere of fatherhood-centered society. In the content of her novel, the observation and review of the feminine difficulties are of the most excellent points. She points out the problems that a woman may encounter when she shifts herself from a traditional female to a modern one which expresses the critical process of a woman transforms from an obedient character to an independent one in the modern society.

Yin, Feng-huang thinks that Lin is one of the most outstanding female writer in the 50s of the 20th century. Her works shows the feminine consciousness. The females in Lin''s text represent the spirit of anti-feudalism, humanism and self-awareness which find a piece of uncultivated land for the female literatures in Taiwan and expand the composing space for feminism literature. She, who can be described as the founder of the Taiwan female novels, works out the starting point for the flow of Taiwan feminism literature and establishes the aesthetic value of text for the female writings in the trend of Taiwan literature tradition after World Ward II.
