碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 國語文學系碩士班 / 97 / "Shanhaiking" is a very special Chinese fairy tale. With only few words, it included geography, history, specialty, mythology, religion, customs and iatrology of the old Chinese world. People argued that the authority of Shanhaiking from the past several hundred years until now. But now, most experts agree that this tale is written by many different authors, in different time and place. That is why this book can included lots of information such as geography, mythology and religion.
There are plenty of researches from Shanhaiking. Our scholar develop many way of studying by western psychology and culture anthropology. These researches result in the exploration of Chinese culture which also increases the value of this book from a cultural aspect.
There were many rare animals are recorded in Shanhaiking. In this paper, I try to focus on studying the bird-kind animals in it. I will study its appearance, expression and witchcraft. I will extend the study to the bird-like gods and races according to their characteristics,too. Since all of them have feather, we can also call them the "feather-kinds".
By looking at the description of the feather kinds in Shanhaiking.I know the bird which we could find in ancient period are chicken,pheasant,magpie,and owl. People tried to predict the future by studying thier behavior in the past. Therefore, we can discuss the relationship between the worshiping of bird-kind and the worshiping of nature from "Shanhaiking".
