碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 音樂學系碩士班 / 97 / This research serves mainly to explore the music contents of Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Theresienmesse” to provide reference for fellow performers, educators, and researchers.
First of all, the biography and characteristics of his religious works were introduced. This paper attempts to discuss Haydn’s masses starting from the origins of masses; by understanding the history and background of “Theresienmesse” this research gets help in investigating the soul and contents of his music. Second of all, this paper attempts to come up with a standard for performers by analyzing the music structures and composing skills of “Theresienmesse”; four different versions were compared in the quest of finding the ideal way to present the music and to serve as a reference for future educators, performers, researchers, or simply admirers of this music.
