Study on the propeller higher order blade rate pressure pulses / 貨櫃船螺槳高階葉頻激振力之成因探討

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 97 / The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the causes and conditions for the propeller to generate the higher order blade rate pressure fluctuation through experiment. Many researches think that the propeller higher order pressure fluctuation is directly due to propeller tip vortex cavitation bursting (PTVCB). However, the main cause to generate PTVCB is the appearance of sheet cavitation at tip and the uniformity of wake. In this thesis, four kinds of propeller and three ship models with different extend of ship wake uniformity will be used to carry out the pressure fluctuation measurement in NTOU large cavitation tunnel.
  From the experimental results, it is shown that the uniformity of ship wake is the most important factor for propeller induced pressure fluctuation both for blade rate and broadband. When the propeller operates in the more uniform wake, the sheet cavitation and the volume change of sheet cavitation is reduced. Thus, its disturbance to the tip vortex cavitation bursting will be reduced correspondingly. Therefore, both the blade rate and broadband excitation would be reduced. The second factor is the propeller tip loading, which will influence on the blade rate excitation but not necessary on the broadband. However, the CLT propeller can reduce both the blade rate and broadband excitation, and the Kappel propeller can reduce higher order blade rate and broadband only.
