碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 電機工程學系 / 97 / Underwater acoustic communication is an interesting research topic. Underwater acoustic transmission system can apply in command/control instructions of underwater system, transmission data of underwater measuring instrument such as sonar system or hydrophones, and underwater images transmission. There are some unique challenges due to harsh underwater environment such as limited bandwidth, high and variable propagation delays, high bit error rates, and severe frequency-selective distortion caused by multipath propagation. Spread spectrum communication is considered as a candidate technique for the future mobile underwater acoustic networks. In the thesis, we discuss orthogonal variable spreading factor code, power assignment mechanism, adaptive modulation scheme, direct mapping (DM) and unequal error protection technique for low error probability and low power underwater acoustic multi-media transmission scheme. We jointly set the transmit power, code length, modulation type, and coding type for underwater multimedia communication. For the purpose of verifying the proposed argument, a simulation has been done and the results match the derivation very well. In addition, such a system can maximize the resource utilization.
