Studies on the CPUE fluctuation of Uroteuthis (Photololigo) chinensis and Etrumeus teres in the waters off Penghu / 澎湖海域臺灣鎖管及脂眼?CPUE變動之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 環境生物與漁業科學學系 / 97 / In order to realize the relationship between the factors of temporal, spatial, environment, fishing ability, and the CPUE (Catch Per Unit Effort) of the main fishing target species of torch light fishery, squids Uroteuthis (Photololigo) chinensis and herring (Etrumeus teres), in the surrounding waters of Penghu, Taiwan. The fishing activities data from 14 sampling boats of torch light fishery during 2000 to 2008 were analyzed by the GAM (generalized additive models) method. The results showed that the GAM could explanation the total fluctuation rate in daily CPUE of squid and herring were 38.2 % and 34.9 %, respectively. The GAM analysis also showed that the higher daily CPUE of squids and herring were found in June to November and June to September, respectively. But the yearly mean CPUE of these two species were decreased year by year. The analysis of the spatio-temporal and environment factors showed that the herring was mainly distributed in the edge of cold eddy, caused by upwelling with low temperature and high salinity, in the southern/southwestern waters of Penghu. Contrarily, the squid was mainly distributed in the western waters of Penghu with high temperature and low salinity. While, in the factors of fishing boat function analysis showed that the lower tonnage of fishing boats (below 12 tons) had higher daily CPUE of squid, but higher daily CPUE of herring in the higher tonnage of fishing boats (above 12 tons).
