碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 97 / Taiwan is surrounded by the oceans not only has the favorable conditions to develop the shipping industry , but also possess important economical strategical position. Foreign trade of Taiwan depends on the shipping industry , and the development of the shipping industry mostly depends on the training of seafarers.
This study based on literature analysis probed into the policy of seafarer’s training and education in Taiwan from the supply and demand of seafarer. The purpose is to improve the training and education of vocational high school , increase the numbers of five-years vocational students , establish courses comply with international conventions , establish a faultless practical training system , nurture the discipline concept of students , establish seafarer’s training organization / on-the-job seafarer’s training system , and increase the opportunity of Taiwan seafarer’s obtaining employment.
