The Study on Coastal Engineering Revolution and Life-Cycle / 海岸工程演變與生命週期關聯因素之探討

碩士 / 國立臺東大學 / 資訊管理學系碩士班 / 97 / The paper study on the coastal engineering change in time series with policies, engineering methods and natural disaster by the cases of 45 major coastal engineering built in Taitung county in length 172 kilometer coastline. The analysis results show that, in the early period of post coastal engineering under the tidal land development policies, up till 1981 when the development of concrete became the primary material used in coastal protection engineering projects. After year 2000, due to the influencing of the ecology concept, the goal of coastal engineering construction changed gradually towards Soft Engineering Protection and Environmental Construction in using low dike, and natural materials as the mainstream technique. The performance of life cycle shows that none of the 45 case projects have reached their end of life. The related factors affecting the life cycle reveals that natural disaster and geological is the most important factor for each project, as shown by the level of maintenance. Relative expenditure analysis reveals that within coastal engineering undertakings, repair and maintenance expenses exceed new construction projects in future years.
