碩士 / 國立高雄大學 / 國際高階經營管理碩士在職專班(IEMBA) / 97 / The thesis discusses a decision-aid framework of Shipping Line choosing of their foreign entry strategies based on the industry condition, such as market share, invest cost, customer satisfaction, and risk evaluation.
This research employs the method of Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, and base on Michael Porter’s value Chain to design Questionnaires and In-depth Interview for further research. We sent questionnaires with In-depth Interview to 6 persons who are the chief, superintendent or Director of Shipping Line. According to the results of research, the entry mode of wholly owned subsidiary is the best strategy.
The reason we found is the responders agreed putting more weights on factors of revenue growth rate and the customer service level which being a wholly owned subsidiary is easier to control and administer the resources to satisfy these two factors than other entry strategies i.e. joint venture and contract.
