碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 97 / Taiwan is an island-country with poor in natural resources. Thus, the economy development extremely relies on imports and exports. Specifically, more than 80% of cargo is transported by ocean shipping in the imports and exports. For ocean shipping, container terminal is one of the important segments. The purpose of this research is to discuss the service quality of container terminal. According to the customer requirements on container terminals, the requirement constructs of service quality for customers are investigated. The technique constructs of service quality for service providers are then examined from the standard operation procedures (SOP) of container terminal operators. At last, the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is employed to transfer the requiremen constructs of customers into the technique constructs of container terminal operators to find the policy priorities for improving the service quality of container terminals. As an empirical study, the container terminal operators in Kaohsiung Prot are investigated to validate the research model. The results could provide practical information for container terminal operators to improve their service quality.
