碩士 / 東吳大學 / 企業管理學系 / 97 / To deal with the global trade liberalization which has been intensifying the business competition increasingly, the apparel firms to keep profits by transferring their manufactory overseas for a lower production cost on both labor and land. However the variations of global market and economy are always unpredictable and do make challenge to the business running. Especially after the strike of economic recession, managers should adjust their strategies and re-evaluate the economic efficiency from overseas manufactory.
The apparel manufacturing industry is classified into the fashion market industry which is susceptible to the variable fashion. Manufacturer should have global logistics as well as quick response to customers to reduce the process lead-time and to meet their demands. In recent year, Taiwanese apparel manufacturers have been engaged in R&D that makes Taiwan a highly potential country. Expanding the offshore business has some uncertainties; therefore, integrating the current resource with project management on plant-construction under good operation procedures can not only control the constructing progression and quality effectively, but reduce the cost as well as risk. This will make the subsequent business running more flexible.
The main purposes of this study are as follow:
1. Applying project management on the procedure of built-up an offshore apparel manufacturing industry provides managers the information about the management of progression-control, procedure-planning and set up of project organization.
2. Applying project management skills to analyze and control the project of build-up an offshore manufacturing factory.
Regarding the project of built-up an offshore apparel manufacturing industry, it's known that the operation benefit and the investment return will be quicker, if the time taken of the project is shorter; as a result, the company profits will be greater. Therefore, in the course of the project, besides the support from the top management, the efficient leadership of project manager and members’ teamwork are the keys to achieve the greatest profits.
