Bird-watching in Taiwan has been flourishing in recent years and the island's forest resources are in a wide range of birds. Additionally, Taiwan is located in the path of East Asia bird migration. The number of birds which migrate through of the island of Taiwan is estimated more than one million each year. Bird-watching in Taiwan has been becoming an important eco-tourism although there are many trails throughout the bird-watching. However there is still a need for improvement of bird-watching character. Therefore, the aim in this study is to estimate the bird-watching trails in low-elevation forests in Taoyuan area. Hope that via the professional assessment of bird-watching to understand the current situation and problems in bird-watching trails. Wish the results can not only provide the recommendations for bird-watching trail, but also build the future plans of the new reference for bird-watching trails.The first purpose of this study is to understand the birds feeding on the plant preferences in low-lying areas in Taoyuan forests via the investigation of bird-watching trail. The result also becomes the operation and management of reference and recommendations in building up the park as a future urban planning and design at the time.The second purpose is to build up the low-lying areas in Taoyuan trails of bird-watching assessment mechanism and verify the results of its assessment in order to establish a national bird-watching trail to assess the future model. The result can actively promote eco-based bird-watching tourism. The third purpose is to realize the causes of plenty sources of bird-watching trails via the assessment of bird-watching routes on low-elevation forests in Taoyuan area. This can be a suggestion to choose the location for bird-watching activities for the friends who like bird-watching. In this study, including bird survey in bird-watching trails (involve: the number of birds and eating habits survey), as well as assessment of the questionnaire interview from Taoyuan, Taipei, Hsinchu, Wild Bird Society bird-watching experience with many years on the sampling areas of the bird species found. It evaluates ornamentation and rare species of birds. This study investigated the line-like bird-watching areas which included: Longtan Lake Township Shihmen Reservoir Road, Ta Shee Kibaki trails, Taoyuan HuTou Mountain Park, Grand Rapids Gold Mountain Industries road surface, Daxi Chungcheng Park, Renaissance Park and the rural angle plate Chaoyang Park in Taoyuan City. Records from the results of the survey study to 39 species of birds, the largest population is Japanese white-eye, followed by Pulsatilla, black bulbul, sparrow, thrush, as well as embroidered eyes. As for ornamental birds and rare results of a questionnaire survey, there is a higher degree of viewing the top five bird species in Taiwan which are blue magpie, blue tit back, the black kite, crested serpent eagle, five-color birds. The rare bird species of high mountains of bamboo for the top five are chicken large scimitar babbler, black kite, crested goshawks and purple thrush Xiao. Also on the assessment of bird-watching trail has the highest rank in Longtan Lake Township Shihmen Reservoir Road, followed by Kibaki trails Tahsi, Taoyuan HuTou Mountain Park, Grand Rapids Gold Mountain Industries road surface, Daxi Chungcheng Park, Fusing Township angle plate Chaoyang Park and Forest Park in Taoyuan City. Bird-watching trail results recommends that consideration should be given to all the birds all year round bait plants for foraging birds and provide shelter Office; As for bird-watching trail facilities, width of roads should be 2 to 5 meters and the soil surface is more suitable than the needs of the inducible facilities for asylum bird forests, and the distance should be better between the waters of 10 to 30 meters.
