The purposes of the present study were to (a) examine the status of training satisfaction for the canoe teams in high school in Taiwan; (b) compare the differences among selected demographic variables on training satisfaction for the canoe teams in high school in Taiwan. The questionnaires were utilized for data collection including (1) Demographic information Sheet; (2) Training satisfaction Scale.
The population was based on canoe teams in high school in Taiwan. The samples were given out to 200 athletes selected from 10 junior high schools and 10 high schools. 200 questionnaires were given, yet due to incompleteness and other survey difficulties, 160 usable questionnaires were retrieved. The valid response rate was 80%. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent sample T-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe’s post-hoc test.
The results showed that: (1) the athletes felt satisfied with the coaches’ overall leadership behavior were moderately high; (2) there were significant differences in gender, grade level, achievements in school works, athletic seniority, highest competition level and high performance.
