碩士 / 國立中正大學 / 化學工程所 / 98 / C - doped or Cr - doped TiO2 were synthesized by sol-gel method to study hydrogen production by photocatalytic water-splitting method under Xe lamp or solar simulator irradiation.
The crystallization, dopant concentration, reaction time, calcination temperature, and the type of dopants used for the modification of TiO2 were investigated for their ability to enhance photocatalytic activity and hydrogen generation by water splitting.
Low concentration dopant in the materials indicates that radiate absorption threshold shifts gradually, which shows absorption in the visible region. At H2 production rate, optimal concentration of carbon - doped and Cr-doped TiO2 are 10.08 wt% and 0.1 wt%, respectively, resulting in the hydrogen production performance of 2.91*10-2μmol/cm2 h for C – doped TiO2 and 1.78*10-2μmol/cm2 h for Cr - doped TiO2 at Xe lamp irradiation. For the tests by solar simulator, the performance of hydrogen production are 5.84*10-4μmol/cm2 h for C - doped TiO2 and 2.36*10-4μmol/cm2 h for Cr - doped TiO2.
