The Influence of Environmental Factors on Migration Behaviors in a Fishway / 環境因子對魚道上溯影響之試驗研究

碩士 / 中華大學 / 土木與工程資訊學系(所) / 98 / The experimental fish used in this study is Zacco pachycephalu, there are three combinations for migration experiments explained as follows:
(1) Illumination test: Five scenarios are simulated as lights all turn on,
lights all turn off, lights half turn on, lights turn on
in mid-section, and lights turn on in lower section,
respectively.
(2) Turbidity test: The turbidity is controlled by adding sediment, four
turbidity scenarios are simulated as lower than 10NTU,
equal to 50NTU, equal to 100NTU, and higher than
150NTU, respectively.
(3) Flow condition test: In this study, same side and opposite side vertical-
slot fishway under different flow rates were used to
simulate the flow condition and migration.

From the results, the flow conditions are critical factors on migration behaviors, in the mean time, the environmental factors such as illumination and turbidity are also important. Normally, the water turbidity is less than 150NTU with lower illumination conditions are favorable for experimental fish migration.
