A Study of the Optimum Facility Scale in Taipei Port Container Terminal / 台北港貨櫃碼頭機具設施規模最適化之探討

碩士 / 長榮大學 / 航運管理學系碩士班 / 98 / Taipei Port is the first container port by BOT in Taiwan. It aims to remedy the flaws of Keelung Port. It has disposed 7 gantry cranes (G/C), 20 automated rail mounted gantry cranes (ARMGC) and 50 yard trailers (YT) in 3rd and 4th terminals . The average volume of containers are about forty thousand TEUs until May in 2009.
In the past references, it probe into dynamic problem about assignment, routing plane and slot. But we will use the volume of containers in the past and now to simulate the growth of volume and the optimum facilities by static state. By understanding the process of container loading and unloading to establish the model of the finish time on shipside and container yard. Furthermore, in order to solve the quantity of G/C, ARMGC and YT, this study will employ the Multiple-Regression and the rule of experience in Taipei Port to get it.
Base on the facility in Taipei Port and the situation of loading and unloading, this study is use “saturated facility quantity” to meet the most effective working time is 16.96 hours on shipside. The volume of facility is still workable at present under the restriction of “assignable facility quantity” in 24 hours.
The total working time will exceed the achievement of 24 hours when the volume of containers reach 4,153 a day. This study will augment the optimum facility for the volume that can’t meet the achievement, and provide a reference of operating for the manager of Taipei Port.
