A pilot study of cloud computing platform for PET image quantitative analysis / 正子造影分析之雲端計算技術平台初探設計

The majority of traditional programs of PET imaging quantitative analysis were written for windows application. Although such program was powerful, it was not easy to update and difficult to use broadly. Therefore, it resulted in inconvenient usages in hospital. In contrast, for the quantitative analysis program in web form, you can achieve real-time updates and widely usages. Yet, such programs were limited by the need of uploading of PET images to the server because both ASP.NET 3.5 and Java development environment did not support the function of direct file access in client side. In an aspect of usage of hospital, since it is the obligation for hospital to protect patient information from illegal access, the web application of quantitative analysis was mostly used in intra-department and academic purposes. It does not satisfy the needs of data stored across departments or hospitals.
This study uses ASP.NET3.5 and Silverlight Technology to design a platform for PET image quantitative analysis. The advantages of the platform include real-time updates, wide applications and sufficient security of data. Three different FDG quantitative analysis methods were developed in web service. In the future, this can be transplanted directly to the cloud computing system, so it not only can contribute to healthcare, but also can provide a professional quantitative analysis platform in academic.
Consequently, Comparing to the data from the 76 real patient , power coefficient (K) related coefficient is 0.96166 and the average error percentage of curve is 2.0801 (%) ± 0.8489.
