碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 國際企業系 / 98 / The pelagic fishing industry in Taiwan has a 50-year history. Its business actual strength and fish catch can play a decisive role among the world. With the changes of deep sea environment and restrain from International tuna commission, the fish catches of main fishery countries have decreased.
This study not only applies CMS model to analyze all the tunas which are catched by Taiwan and other countries, but also add Japan to compare with each other. Due to the fact that Japan has been the greatest aquatic product consumer country, it is necessary to realize the competiveness relationship between Japan and other importing countries.
By using CMS model, we can realize that Taiwan’s big eye tuna competitive effect has been deterioated. In contrast to China, the competitive effect has increased due to the fact that they have endeavored to develop pelagic fishery industry.
The analysis alos shows that Taiwan yellowfin tuna have a gradual decrease on Japan tuna market. Besides, on bluefin tuan and southern bluefin tuna, Taiwan has lost competitive advantage due to less quota and resource crisis.
In fact, Taiwan’s competiveness was going to recess. In the future, Taiwan must maintain the competitive advantage and find ways to enhance tuna export.
