The comparative study of educational vocabularies between Taiwan and Mailand China / 臺海兩岸教育詞彙比較研究

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 應用中國文學系碩士班 / 98 / This study took traditional and simplified Chinese characters of education as the main theme of the discussion. At first, to compile enough information about traditional and simplified Chinese vocabularies related to educational between Taiwan and Mainland China. Secondly, to generalize the different points and to features from those vocabularies. In addition, adding Japanese vocabularies to the study as the references, and to find the similarity and difference between Chinese characters.

The first and the last chapter are conclusion and prospection; others can be divided into three chapters.

The second chapter discussed the background of different vocabularies and the present procession between Taiwan and China. Taiwan and China developed their culture for their own way above sixty years. However, the development of different Chinese languages caused the different vocabularies between Taiwan and China. For the study, first had to illustrate the change process of Chinese languages between Taiwan and China; then, state the new phenomena of vocabularies in recent year that the new words were created. Through the above explanations, understand the background of different vocabularies and present conditions.

The third chapter talked about the reasons why vocabularies became different. To analyzed the reasons for five parts: translation rule, vocabulary of loanword, dialect vocabulary, cultural element and literary language etc.

The fourth chapter compared Taiwan’s educational and cultural vocabularies to China, and showed the different points and features for those vocabularies. In addition, added Japanese vocabularies to the study as the references, showed difference of Chinese characters among the three nations.

The difference between Taiwan and China is a form of a written. Taiwan uses the traditional Chinese characters. It also retains the Chinese characters’ forms, sounds, and meanings. However, China uses the simplified Chinese characters. It simplified and varied Chinese characters, and attempted to let the Chinese characters became phonetized. Through the study, it shows some concepts. For one thing, the most parts education vocabularies of Taiwan are classically elegant; for another thing, the most parts education vocabularies of China are direct and brief, it often named by the shape of the things, and has the special wordings in Educational places, Educational institutions and particular periods. Vocabulary is regarded as the communicational bridge in the world. Different vocabularies of Taiwan and China may produce some misunderstandings. The study contrasted and compared the education vocabularies by collecting the vocabularies between Taiwan and Chinese. The paper also generalizes the features of different education vocabularies above sixty years, adds Japanese vocabularies to the study as the references. I expect this study could decrease some misunderstandings, and increase the realization and grasp of vocabularies between Taiwan and China. I also expect the study will have contributions to the teaching of Japanese and organizing vocabularies between Taiwan and China.
