碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 工業設計學系碩博士班 / 98 / With the technological development of computer, communication, consumer electronics and related products, In-Vehicle Navigation Systems is no longer simply used for navigation; it can also integrate with other products related with communication, information, or entertainment. In recent years, In-Vehicle Navigation System has been integrated with communication technologies to provide drivers and passengers more driving information, entertainment and personal services. If In-Vehicle Navigation Systems provide inadequate user interface information, users may have difficulty on operation. For example, unsuitable icon and inappropriate framework configuration will confuse users; Redundant functional items and unsuited hierarchical configuration are not only waste drivers’ time looking for the functional items they need but also increase the driver's mental workload.
In this study, a market survey was used in order to know users’ requirements for functional items of In-Vehicle Navigation Systems. Then, a hierarchical cluster analysis was used to find out the right hierarchical configuration of functional items. In the following step, Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to get the design factors of framework configuration. At the end, the optimal functional icons were selected and designed. The high demand functional items, clustering rules of functional items, design factors of interface and the features of optimal functional icons gotten by the above methods will be used to build up the following system interfaces. The In-Vehicle Navigation System constructed in this study could be a reference for interface developers of In-Vehicle Navigation System. It could also assist developers build to a more efficient and user-friendly In-Vehicle Navigation System.
