碩士 / 國立體育大學 / 休閒產業經營學系碩士班 / 98 / The purpose of this study was to explore the teaching cognition and intention to carry out water sports of those teachers who participated in a sailing camp. Totally 95 samples were collected through designed questionnaires, and 88 effective data were analyzed by SPSS describable statistics, one-way ANOVA. The major results are shown as follows:
1. The majority of participants were male teachers who are 31-40 years old coming from Xin Zhuzng and Dan Shui, the neighboring areas of Ba-Li.
2. 46% of the participating teachers had no experiences in water sport related activities. 62% of them did not carry out any water sport teaching for the past three years.
3. Teachers who were interviewed had high cognition of water sport leisure experience and recognized the value of water sport leisure experience.
4. In reality, if there is a difficulty in carrying out water sport activity, teachers were not intended to overcome the hurdle, and the willingness to participate became low.
5. Among those teachers who were interviewed, the more they experienced in the water sport activity, the more they want to carry out the water sport teaching activities.
6. The higher the cognition is, the more the teachers were willing to carry out water sport teaching activities.
7. The more the teachers experienced in the water sport activities, the higher the cognitions would be.
In practice, this study suggests
1. To provide teachers with sufficient water sport leisure experience and training to increase the cognition of water sport activities.
2. Teachers could carry out “collaborative teaching” of water sport to cultivate seed teachers.
3. To enhance the coaches’ skills at the sailboat resort, increase the capacity of teaching and integrate sea education into “main curriculum”.
Suggestions for future study
1. This study conducted a survey of only sailing sports participating teachers. In future studies, researchers could be extended to teachers who have not yet experienced in sailboat activities. The comparison can increase the understanding of overall willingness of teachers to carry out water sport teaching activities.
2. Future study can also be focued on other geographic locations to understand overall water sport proliferation and participation in a national scale.
