A Study of Inventory Policy on Offshore Purchasing of Non-active Duty Weapons-A Case Study of the Army’s Equipment in Taiwan / 我國外購非現役武器系統存貨政策之研究-以陸軍某裝備為例

碩士 / 國防大學管理學院 / 資源管理及決策研究所 / 98 / In order to response to market demand, a leap forward and change in technological development to promote technology products with shortening of life cycles. However, the life-cycle perspective on military weapon systems 2-30 years(or maybe even longer). The pressure of logistics service continued increasing. Due to the preparedness supply was restricted by the factors of technological and political. The spare parts with the highly related weapon system availability will result in considerable effect for the weapon system availability. Therefore , it is an important issue to reduce the cost of spare parts procurement and to enhance weapon system availability in the limited resources.
The system dynamics modeling process in this study was used to construct the dynamic model of inventory policy for the spare parts with non-active weapon system from foreign weapons acquisition. It try to explain the development of system behavior between the spare parts with non-active weapon system from foreign weapons acquisition and weapon system availability. The feasibility of inventory policy for the spare parts was simulated by adjusting key variables. The results are as follows:
1.With respect to the feasibility of simulation for inventory policy with “Removal parts and Supplement” find that both of the reserve stocks of spare parts and the equipment availability will be increased as well as raised the effectiveness of combat readiness, and reduced the cost of the acquisition of spare parts by the mechanism of disabled equipment with “Removal parts and Supplement”.
2.The feasibility of simulation with different proportions of initial spare parts find that high proportion of the initial spare parts will result in increase in the cost of the acquisition of spare parts. But the development trend of weapon system availability. There is a better state on initial stage, and then the effect is not significant.
