Arren's journey of growth--analysis of the meaning of "Tales from Earthsea" from Jung's psychology / 亞刃的成長旅途—從榮格心理學分析《地海戰記》之意義

碩士 / 南華大學 / 美學與視覺藝術學系碩士班 / 98 / The paper takes a film of "Tales from Earthsea", as the subject to analyze director--宮崎吾郎,by film''s symbols, such as the relationship between characters, theme songs, etc. So, as for visual arts appreciation, In this paper, respectively, both from the visual and auditory analysis the described of images. The field study were analyzed using the theory of Jung''s collective unconscious in analytic psychology played a pivotal role in this study. The perspectives of archetype-- persona, shadow, anima, animus, self, were also used to interpret character personality and convey imagery,and the major character- Arren of "Tales from Earthsea" to reach the status of Self archetype. In the journey''s events and roles of the film, Arren of the "Tales from Earthsea" gradually come to realize the meaning of life, dispel fear, and thus be able to face their own inner shadow, also accepted the fact related to life and death. The end of the journey, Arren completed the Individuation Process. This paper explore to the interpretation of the text, including life levels, and attempts to provide new vision for the viewer.
