碩士 / 高雄餐旅學院 / 餐旅管理研究所在職專班 / 98 / This study intends to understand the social support’s influence to overseas adaption of overseas internship students, and also analyze the difference of overseas adaption based on personal background. This study surveys on a student who’s studied abroad for 1 year in a structural form of census method. A total of 190 questionnaires were distributed with 152 valid questionnaires which resulted in 80% valid. The results shows under social support, there are emotional, informational and instrumental support gave conspicuous positively effect to internship student. The emotional support mainly come from friends’ conformations, encouragements, colleges’ affirmation and emotional support. For informational support, the resources come from family’s opinions, social experience, and daily laughter. Besides, for instrumental support, if practical methods, such as commend, awards, or publish on bulletin board, were applied to approve the hard work of internship students, it would assist overall overseas adaption effectively. Finally, The result also discovered that different countries also caused conspicuous difference for internship student, the students had intern at Canada had better live adaption than the students had intern at Japan and Singapore. The conclusions and recommendations of the study could provide all kinds of social support to students major in hospitality management before their overseas internship in order to support students’ overseas adaption and enhance their academic performance.
