碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 漁業生產與管理研究所 / 98 / Reproductive biology of the codlet Harpadon microchir, was examined from the specimens collected by the waters off southwestern Taiwan during September 2007 to December 2008. A total of 1,697 specimens (1,066 females and 631 males). By means of histological examination, the oocyte development can be clearly categorized into eight stages while the ovary development is four stages. Based on the macroscopic appearance, histological examination of ovary, estimations of gonadosomatic index and group maturity rate, it suggested that spawning season of this species occurs from Augest to Decmber and has a high peak in November. Mean fecundity and mean batch fecundity of this species were estimated as 446,373± 174,858 and 61,680 ± 60,279,334, respectively. The sex ratio (female/total) was 63% (1,066/1,697), which was significantly different from 1.0 (p<0.05). The bodyleagth of the first sexual maturing was 29.5 and 17.3 cm for bath female and male. The ANCOVA test showed that there was no significant difference in the rehtionship between FL and body weight for both sex (p>0.05). And the relationship formula was BW = 2×10-7 FL3.508 (n =1,694,r2 = 0.98).
