But facing the Chinese harbor terminal fast-rising container ports with competitiveness, Taiwan area industry reforming, the traditional labor-intensive industry offsetting, the supply of goods slow growth and the insufficiency harbor terminal construction led to the decline of assembling and disassembling containers .Those phenomenon may cause the container terminal operators to adjust the mode of operation and no longer renew the contracts or leave the Kaohsiung harbor.
The purpose of this article is to inquire about the container terminal leasing system on the development and influence of the Kaohsiung harbor, and analysis the change of the international cabinet shipping merchants’ demand in recent years, to discuss about benefit and difficulty to the four cabinet shipping merchants, and to understand the whole coming influence regarding Kaohsiung harbor possible derivation.
Because of synthesizes experts' opinion, obtains the conclusions: The container wharf integration between different container terminal centers is necessary, and also an important strategy. It will be helpful to conform routes and take the Kaohsiung harbor as the transshipment center, and may promote the green harbor’s environmental index value .But the container terminal to carry on integration, profit of the possible derivation take “to reduce the cross-region transportation cost” as most obvious, while the difficult position will be” very high take the wharf reproduction cost” as the most important consideration. The process of impetus container terminal integration will be complex and take a lot of time, how to give dual attention to all quarters benefit and melt the disparagement, needs macroscopic and the long-term cognition, and constantly communicating, only then smoothly carries on.
The research analysis may provide the harbor operation and management unit of our country to draft the business development strategy in decision-making reference appraisal in the future.
