碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 99 / This research is studying on the relationship among Personality Traits, Emotional Labor and Job Performance, and take sale representatives of Container Shipping Companies in Taiwan as an example. The purpose of this research is to prove that the NEO-FFI test of Personality Traits could be as one of tool to recruit sales representatives. Also, this research will investigate that using NEO-FFI test to recruit staff and reduce staff’s Emotional-Labor burden would improve Job Performance and enlarge business performance.
This research hypothesizes that the different demography variables would be as a result of different Personality Traits、Emotional Labor and it would be effect Job performance. Also, the research hypothesizes that the correlation between Personality Traits、Emotional Labor and Job Performance is significant. The findings of this research are as below:
(1) Different demography variables (gender、years of service and employees quantity ) of the sales representatives have significant difference Personality Traits. Also different demography variables (years of service、education and employees quantity ) of the sales representatives have significant difference Emotional Labor.
(2) Significant correlation between Personality Traits (Neuroticism、Openness to Experience 、Extraversion and Agreeableness) and Job Performance. And Significant correlation between Emotional Labor and Job Performance (contextual performance).
(3) Personality Traits and Emotional Labor have positive influence on Job Performance, and the influence of Personality Traits is more significant than Emotional Labor.
The research can provide Container Shipping Companies as reference when recruit sales representative 、design training courses and establish KPI system.
