Constructing a Transportation Management System by Ergonomics Perspective / 以人因工程觀點探討運輸管理系統之建置

碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 資訊管理所 / 98 / In recent years, the invention and rise of the internet has led to the prosperous development of e-commerce, which brings great changes to the transaction model of businesses and organizations as well as the commercial environment. Gradually, the internal departments of businesses realize the importance of logistics management. Then they start to pursue the construction of a logistics information processing system. In a professional logistical center, through the assistance of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS), the objective of effective product control can be really accomplished. Whether the applied programs and the design of software operation interface are good or bad can have direct effects to users. A well-designed man-machine interface not only can decrease the learning time in the early period of use, but also enables the effects of the system to be exerted in advance. After the learning stage, the ultimate overall performance of the system can even be enhanced, decreasing the probabilities of making mistakes by the system.
TMS is an extension of the functions of WMS, and let the entire logistics system become more complete. Therefore, focusing on the existing problems of the system of the company under case study, the paper proposes some methods of improvement for the smooth operation of the system, enhancement of execution efficiency of the system, convenient operation of the system, and the users’ satisfaction degree with the system, all of which are the main research issues of the study. Through the questionnaire survey results collected from users, the study explores the existing shortcomings of TMS of the company under case study, and redesign the TMS of the company from ergonomics viewpoint according to the suggestions given in past references, in order to raise the users’ satisfaction degree with the new system, and develop a system that can completely meet the needs of users. The study uses “System Prototyping Development” to develop an interface prototype. Users are encouraged to actively participate in the development of system. Through continuous modifications, the system can at last meet the needs of users, and the users’ degree of satisfaction can be raised. Finally, through experimental design, Chi-square test can be used to inspect whether there is significant difference on the operation interface between the new and old systems. As shown from the experimental results, six performance facets of the system, including its learnability, usability, operation speed, stability, resumability and satisfaction degree, are all better than those of the old system. When system designers are about to design related system in future, if they can refer to these rules of ergonomics in designing the layout of system, the affinity and accessibility of the designed system will be increased. When the objective of system construction is accomplished, the users’ satisfaction degree with the system software will also be increased simultaneously.
