Hybrid-band Relay Based Underwater Wireless Video BroadcastingSystems / 基於混頻中繼器的水下無線視訊廣播系統

碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 電腦與通訊工程所 / 98 / This thesis aims at underwater wireless video transmission technologies. The most commonly used underwater wireless communication systems involve acoustic or optical of signal, and each of these techniques has its own advantages and limitations. Acoustic systems are the most versatile and widely used technique but it would be severely affected by multipath propagation in water due to reflection and refraction and high ambient noise levels. In addition, acoustic systems can not achieve high data rate in general. Although optical systems can offer transmission of higher data rate than acoustic systems, in water they are generally limited to applications of extremely short distance because of backscatter and absorption due to suspended matter. In this thesis, a new approach based on electromagnetic wave propagation through water is proposed for high transmission data rate. Hybrid-band relay based underwater wireless video broadcasting systems are developed for flexible range extension. Some experimental results in the real underwater environment is presented to verify the efficacy of the proposed approach. The proposed system can be applied to entertainment, home security and underwater exploration, etc.
