Ecoregion classification by using drainage fish community in Taiwan / 以流域淡水魚群聚資料建立台灣淡水魚生態區之研究

碩士 / 高雄師範大學 / 生物科技系 / 98 / This study used a 1997-2005 GIS dataset analysis spatial relationship of freshwater fish in Taiwan. Based on drainage fish community data, five freshwater ecoregions were classified in Taiwan: I. the nanao coastal ecoregion, II. Taroko & feng-bin coastal ecoregion, III. South chiayi-tainan field ecoregion: contains the Jishuei River to Kao-Ping (not including) the west, IV. Changhua & Hsinchu coastal ecoregion, V. centi-ecoregion. Analysis for habitat characteristics of freshwater fisher revealed that 4 species could appeared in those strains with altitude above 1500 m. all 25 species could survive in water temperature ranged from 10~25℃. 25 species of freshwater fish in this study could be impacted by effects of global warming. If rainfall intensity increase due to global warming, it is expected 3 species could be affected. Negative impact could be more significant on seven freshwater species in Taiwan, including Gobiobotia cheni, Puntius semifasciolatus, Pseudobagrus brevianalis taiwanensis, Varicorhinus barbatulus, Crossostoma lacustre, Zacco pachycephalus, Spinibarbus hollandi.
