碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 熱帶農業暨國際合作系所 / 98 / The grouper has the highest economic value and development of aquaculture species in Taiwan. This study investigated the sea water quality on grouper aquaculture in Fangliau Township. Sea water samples were collected on the traditional Chinese calendar 1st and 15th days, and taken two day intervals between these two days. Different layers of sea water were drawn from coastal wells and surface water of the sea and temperature, salinity, pH, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, copper, and iron ions contents were determined and related to water quality. Concentrations of copper and iron ions and nitrite nitrogen in the first test of three samples of water layer samples had exceeded sea water standards; however, they had no effect on the culture of grouper. Therefore, only temperature, salinity, pH, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide were detected in subsequent analyses. The results indicated that the water qualities of three layers of the sea water were not affected by time and tide. Surface sea water was most affected by the weather, whereas, deep sea water had the most stable temperature, but low salinity and pH, and high concentrations of ammonia-nitrogen. The middle layer water exhibited good quality and stability, but unstable temperature as a result of climate. However, due to minimal changes in weather, the middle layer was considered the most suitable for breeding grouper.
