The comparison of the content about life science and the text tructure in Taiwan and China / 海峽兩岸小學自然科學教科書之生命科學相關單元內容及課文結構比較

碩士 / 國立臺中教育大學 / 科學應用與推廣學系科學教育碩士班 / 98 / The main purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the distribution of life science concept and top-level structure in the science textbook used in Taiwan and mainland China. The approach to conduct this study is based on content analysis method. The research tool used in this study is from two items-analysis table which was developed with the life science structure of TIMSS 2007 and the theory of the top-level structure presented by Meyer(1985). These two items developed into “analyzing list of life science” and “analyzing list for expository text of the top-level structure ” This study is limited to the chapters about life science concepts in the edition of Kang Hsuan of Taiwan and People Educational Publication of mainland China. According to the research, main results are as follows:
1. Compare the distribution of life science concepts in two editions:
(1)The distributive trend of topics in two editions are the same. The distributive trend of sub-topics are different ,that prefer different concepts.
(2)The distributive sequence of concepts in sub-topics are different without the same trend.
2. Compare the distribution of top-level structure of two editions:
(1)Using condition of top-level structure in two editions are different:the edition of Kang Hsuan in each type changes with different grades, but the one of People Educational Publication of mainland China is without difference.
(2)There is no difference in the top-level structure of plant and animal concepts: the top-level structure of plant and animal concepts in two editions are the same, but the use of Collection and Comparison in the edition of Kang Hsuan is more than the one in People Educational Publication of mainland China.
As the results, the studies in the future could focus on the learning sequence of biological concepts and the reading comprehension of the text using five top-level structures.Through this study, it was expected to be helpful for the textbook edit and research.
