The development of the tourism industry depends on the people, the government coordinated. Tourism industry also known as "smokeless industry" could make full use of existing tourism resources, re-packaging, integration, will be able to activate the local economy. This study collected data through field surveys and through theoretical analysis related to tourism geography to assess the coastal region of Taichung County's strengths and weaknesses of tourism development and possible improvement strategies, thus providing tourism related businesses, government agencies, to promote tourism development in the future reference.
The main results of this study are:
First, the status of tourism development: a north-south zonal distribution of tourism resources, tourist adopt a short time, many attractions style Combined stroke-based, visitors preferences Mazu Culture and wetland ecology, coastal scenery and information integration
Sources, the development of bicycle paths, the government emphasis on tourism.
Second, tourism development obstacles: the Taichung county government fiscal deficit, the study area involved in tourism development

For transportation index recognizable, tourism information need to be more clear and easy to obtain, set up more trash cans.
