The study on the Taiwanese Songs composed by Nan-Hai Huang / 黃南海台語藝術歌曲研究

碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 國語文學系教學碩士班 / 98 / Nan-Hai Huang presented his musical talent on the performance of singing, writing, teaching, conducting and composition fields. In the study, not only does the musical portfolio of Nan-Hai Huang introduce, but also analyze different styles (e.g. sound, rhythm, creation, description of song and analysis of composition) among four songs, such as night song of Tien-Tsi by Wen-Ching Yu, Gung-Lu by An-Tung Shieh, Road Hero by Ching-Lien Hwang and A Midnight Poem by Po-Lin Chung, which was selected from one hundred songs composed by Nan-Hai Hwang. In addition, these songs are compared with the most representative Taiwanese song, there are five sections divided as follows:
In the first section, research motivation and purpose, research range, points and limitation, as well as research method will be described.
In the second section, the description of Huang’s life of musical development during seventy years in terms of growth background, musical career and contribution to society.
The relationship between Taiwanese song and music will further be investigated to explore the history and characters of Taiwanese songs;
Furthermore, the relationship between Taiwanese intonation and melody will be another area to be investigated, especially in the character of Taiwanese language, pronunciation of Taiwanese, the relationship between Taiwanese and music.
In the fourth section, collection and categorization of Huang’s music will also be done, including theory, singing skills, conducting instruction and composition etc. In addition, several parts need to be further discussed, such as categorization and introduction of works, categorization of creative works, and analysis of methods for musical creativity, taking four above-mentioned songs as examples.
Finally, the conclusion mainly describes Mr. Huang’s performance in his musical career during seventy years including singing, conducting, composition, instruction.Even enough and theory although he was not educated with formal training, he is actually a musician. However, the most important thing is to understand what you possess and desire, as well as what you can do to attain your dream, no matter what you learn or study.
