碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 98 / The objective of this study is to evaluate the profitability of varied grouper farmings. The structure of cost and return in producing Epinephelus malabaricus、E. lanceolatus、E. fuscoguttatus and Cromileptes altivelis, were investigated and analyzed.
The result of MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) indicated that varied species had significant effect on not only cost but also BCR(benefit-cost ratio) of production. The result of Mahalanobis Distance analysis indicated that BCR between E.lanceolatus and E.fuscoguttatus was not significant different. The result of discriminant function analysis showed that miscellaneous cost of E. malabarricus was higher than that of the others. The most expensive grouper was C. altivelis, and the cheapest one was E. malabarricus. The price of E. malabarricus in China was 700NT/kg higher than that in Taiwan.
As the result, the E. malabarricus farming should reduce the miscellaneous cost. Since the difference of BCR between E.lanceolatus and E.fuscoguttatus was not so different, the farmers of E.lanceolatus may switch to produce E.fuscoguttatus which had a shorter production cyale. The market prices of groupers in China were usually higher than that in Taiwan. As the result, Taiwan farmers may take a share of China market to improving their profitability.
