碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 98 / To estimate nitrogen fluxes, this study analyzed datasets of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) and dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) in atmospheric particles. The chemical data (548) were derived from studies undertaken from September 2003 to July 2007.
The derived air masses were classified using air mass backward trajectories (AMBTs), and categorized into continental, oceanic and local sources. A one-sample Student’s t-test was used to analyze the datasets where the concentrations of nitrogen species were normally distributed. Significant results for chemical species were considered to be normally distributed (e.g. NH4+ from continental sources; NO3 from oceanic source; DON from local sources). Other species were classified as abnormal distributions (e.g. NH4+ from oceanic sources; NO3 from continental sources).
Outliers were removed for analysis of fluxes of water soluble inorganic and organic nitrogen species. The estimated fluxes were: 4.30 mmol m2 year1 NH4+; 0.09 mmol m2 year1 NO2; 5.78 mmol m2 year1 NO3; 10.1 mmol m2 year1 DIN; and 2.29 mmol m2 year1 DON.
