Fishery resource fluctuation analysis using voyage recording data of sample vessels – a case study of torch-light net fishery in Kong-Liao / 運用標本船動態紀錄分析漁業資源變動-以貢寮地區火誘網為例

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 環境生物與漁業科學學系 / 98 / The Code of Conduct of Responsible Fishery requires fishing information transparency, thus it is important to control the spatial information of fishing operations. However, to achieve it in coastal fisheries is difficult. In recent years, coastal fishing vessels had mandatorily required to install voyage distance recorder, therefore to control spatial information of fishing operation is possible. In this study, we use the temporal and spatial factors from voyage distance recorder to analyze Kong-Liao torch-light net fishery resources distribution and its relationship with environmental factors. The results are as follows:
(A)This study developed two methods of catches allocation applying to the torch-light net catches. It could be reasonably estimate the CPUE allocation of resolutions up to 0.01 ° × 0.01 °, with which more subtle changes between catch and environmental can be observed.
(B)Major fishing activities took place in summer season and mainly located in waters shallower than 200 m isobaths with slightly differences in space as follow: bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) in Yen-Liao bay during summer, rough leatherjacket (Aluterus monoceros) in the bay estuary during fall, sword-tip squid (Loligo edulis) in northern waters during spring and fall, and bali sardinella (Sardinella melanure) northward moving during summer.
(C)The environmental preferences estimated by catch statistics in different sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration are summarized as fallow: bullet tuna has highest catches in 27 ℃ and 0.3 mg/m3, rough leatherjacket in 23℃ and 1 mg/m3, sword-tip squid in 28℃ and 0.3 mg/m3, and bali sardinella in 28℃ and 1.4 mg/m3.
(D)Factors that effect on CPUE include year, month, longitude, latitude and SST. Among them, the SST can explain the highest variation of CPUE for the 4 major species. The standardized CPUE using Generalized Linear Model suggested that: bullet tuna in 2007~2009 was flat, bali sardinella decreased year by year, rough leatherjacket and sword-tip squid was varied.
In this study, we have successful used the voyage recording data to analyze the fluctuation of fishery resource caught by Kong-liao torch-light net fishery. The method developed in this study may apply to other coastal fisheries and to make up the lack of fishing report. It could be helpful to other fisheries research in the future.
