The Developed Waypoints Planning Programs of Main Sailings Approaches in Ocean Navigation / 大洋航行中主要航法之轉向點規劃程式開發

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 98 / For open sea navigation, navigators usually used main approaches, the great circle sailing (GCS) and the composition sailing (CS), to deal with computational problems of the sailings. Since the GCS is composed of segments of rhumb line sailing, whereas the CS is composed of two GCS and one parallel sailing. Therefore, the waypoints planning along the great circle track is vitally important task whether the GCS or the CS. However, the waypoints planning function is a lack of all currently relevant sailings computational programs and thus, it leads to the motivation of this thesis. Firstly, the Graphical User Interface (GUI), built in the MATLAB is adopted to develop the waypoints planning program for the great circle track; and then, it has been integrated to develop the great circle track planning program and the composition track planning program, respectively. Besides, this thesis also proved that the conventional composition sailing is the shortest distance of various composition sailings. Finally, these self-developed programs are verified with several examples presented in textbooks and also compared with those available programs.
