碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 98 / Bulk vessels are mainly used to transport bulk cargo. The global bulk shipping market is a free competition market and has no regular line and voyage. The decision-making for strategy of goods freight is very important if Carrier get more competitive advantage.
There were many literatures published in the area of goods fright that was focused on tendency and forecast of freight market. In this thesis, a freight model is proposed to analysis the freight rates of charter daily hire in different type vessels. In order to understand how each variable influence Carrier’s profit, a sensitivity analysis model is adopted in this study. The sensitivity analysis for the carrier can obtain the key factor of Carrier’s profit.
The result of study shows that larger bulk vessels have economy of scale and superiority of the unit cost. The smaller bulk vessel’s voyage cost for the goods freight proportion is larger than the larger bulk vessels, so the smaller bulk vessels suit to short transportation. The most important factor for the net profit of Carrier is the price of goods freight, the second factor is the deadweight tonnage, the third factor is charter daily hires, however; the oil price rate and the commission ratio not remarkable influence.
