The Study on the Relationship between Third Party Logistic Providers’ Services and Customers’ Satisfaction / 第三方物流業者之供應鏈服務與顧客滿意度關聯性研究

Challenges that enterprises face are getting harsher not only in domestic or regional market, but also in a global competition, global-wide logistics are becoming an important and urgent issue as a result. While enterprises of Taiwan are developing internationally and globally, they have to realize where to purchase cost-effective raw materials and how to deliver goods correctly and effectively, so that the supply chain can operate efficiently with a strong logistics capability.
Owing to the rapid development of technology, logistics service providers are getting matured, and enterprises who concentrate on their core value would like to outsource their own logistics business to professional third-party logistics providers about managing materials or delivering products. In addition, Taiwanese enterprises’ orders are transforming to ship from outside of Taiwan in recent years. Therefore, the third-party logistics providers are having more affects toward the small-medium sized enterprises in Taiwan.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the small-medium sized enterprises’ satisfaction toward the supply chain services and products offered by the third-party logistics providers, and the services and products provided by Taiwanese logistics providers in nowadays. Besides, this research will also provide appropriate solutions and recommendations according to the satisfaction of seeing whether the service and quality provided by 3PL could satisfy the trend those small-medium sized enterprises in Taiwan outsourcing their logistics business. Case study method and questionnaire investigation method were conducted to analyze the sample data (20 logistics services and 60 general enterprises). Constructed a relationship between needs of Taiwanese enterprises toward logistics and the satisfaction of existing service offered by logistic providers, this research divides the main supply chain service regions provided by 3PL into several parts: “Supply Chain Management”, “Transportation Service”, “Warehouse Service”, “Value-added Service”, and “Information Service”. Lastly, this research investigates the performance of this service toward the management of small-medium sized enterprises through matching with the satisfaction of Taiwanese enterprises. In addition to analyzing the contemporary situation that logistics providers may face and categories that services which failed to achieve small-medium sized enterprises’ expectation, this research also made an statistical analysis toward the 3PL’s “satisfaction”, “intention of outsourcing”, and “factors that may affect intention of outsourcing”. And the last, matching the above dimensions with marketing strategies of past and future, challenges that 3PL face, this research provide suggestions and recommendations according to the analysis results.
