Taiwanese people emphasized the recreation activity thereafter. Visitors appeal to re-open the 1,600 km seashore after the martial law ended , and then sea tourism is getting popular. Many tourists go visiting fish harbor and have sea food tasted.
Therefore, we try to promote the recreation fishery by incorporating the characteristics of fishery, fish villages and culture. You may say that tourism managers will transform Fishing Harbor into fishery tourism center.
The purpose of this study aims to investigate the correlation between visitors’ leisure function cognition and experience benefit toward Wu-Chi fishing harbor , Taiwan. The experimental results will be also used as the reference for tourism managers.
We also referred varying references about cognition and experiences in leisure to write out useful questionnaire for investigating the followings:
Cognition of function:
1. New knowledge of fish catch.
2. Requirements of physiological health protection.
3. Cognizing the freshness of the catch of fish taste.
Experiences:
1. Effect of the release of daily living stress.
2. New fishing technology education.
3. A taste of fresh fishes.
We ask visitors to fill out 470 copies of questionnaire randomly. The number of effective questionnaires was 407, and then using SPSS technique to understanding their cognition/experience while they are in Wu-Chi fishing harbor on weekdays and holiday respectively.
The experimental results are as follows:
1. The most satisfaction items for visitors is ‘New knowledge of fish catch ’
2.“ Release of living stress ”is the most emphasized among visitors for experience benefit item.
3. From the results of demographic and visitors’ behaviour analyses, there are apparent differences in recreation function experiencing respectively.
4. While human being facing devastated climate change, most visitors do agree to incorporate Ecology, Green energy and Tourism for enhancing sustainable environmental conservation of Wu-Chi fishing harbor.
