Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to explore how Longtan Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Races affects local tourism and hospitality benefits. The study mainly based on the background characteristics of tourists and tourism characteristics of the Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Races Longtan scenic attraction and recreational Satisfaction. Methods: Taking 2010 Longtan Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Races tourists as objects for this study. We have sent 500 questionnaires, procured 422 valid questionnaires and 84.4% stratified samples. All obtained statistics were analyzed by descriptive statistical software SPSS12.0 statistics, t test, and ANOVA system. Results: (a) background variations of accounted tourists are 56.4% for female; 45.9% for tourists under age 20; 50.1% for students; 61% for unmarried tourists, 43% for high school degree; 36.8% for tourists who have no income; 57.9% for tourists who live in the northern Taiwan. (B) On aspect of tourism characteristic, statistic of tourists took special trip to Longtan for the races is 45.1%; statistic of tourists with twice (or above) times of experience on participating in similar activities is 53.1%; statistic of tourists be there with companions is 25.5%; statistic of tourists who were notified for Longtan Sightseeing pool casual information by their relatives or friends is 42.5%; statistic of Dragon Boat Race participants with personal cost amount under $500NT is 35.4%. (C) The highest satisfaction on the tourist attraction and recreational satisfaction are items as "activities additional effect" and "activity planning." Conclusions: (1) tourism attraction and recreational satisfaction with significant differences are on items as: 1. Age, 2. Occupation 3. Marital Status,4. Education,5. Monthly Income,6. Living Area,7. Companions,8. Estimated personal cost. Recommendation: In order to enhance quality of activities and participant rate, associating departments should improve related equipment and operate described activities efficiently. Such deeds would positively increase local tourism and hospitality benefit.
