碩士 / 聖約翰科技大學 / 企業管理系碩士班 / 98 / In this study, we examined the relation between cultural distance and firm’s foreign entry mode choice. Many entry mode studies have found that cultural distance is a key factor for firm entry strategic choice. However, their findings were heterogeneous. We argue that the external governance environment of the host country is crucial for entry strategic choice. This is not the only determinate factor of entry mode strategy, but also will moderate the relation between cultural distance and foreign entry mode choice. An analysis 2451 entries by Taiwan MNEs into 13 countries offer support for our hypothesis.
