The Development of Creative Product : Using Tung Hai University’s Campus Culture Product Development Process as an Example / 創意產品開發—以東海大學校園文化商品的開發過程為例

However, whether the Government's development policy, or the industry's development process, are often focused on the organization or enterprises, the student's creativity in campus not be taken seriously.
This study proposes the concept of campus culture product and development model, so that the intangible campus culture assets can develop from learning, combine with the “Creative thinking and practical courses” and “Entrepreneurship and practical courses”, to provide a learning environment for students from various departments in campus, forming a development team, to stimulate student's creativity and capacity, and finally develop a tangible creative product - the campus culture product. From the market value to promote the campus cultures.
This study proposes the LDI model ( learning, development and investment model ) of innovative practice models. From the offer of two innovative courses to require learners use campus cultural assets to develop the campus culture product, and venture planning, to promotion the campus culture.Two courses are “Creative thinking and practical courses” and “Entrepreneurship and practical courses”, a total of six credits, the students were from different departments in Tung-Hai University, in total of 61 students. All of them were junior and senior students. Time from February 2008 to January 2009.
This course take the participation and experience teaching methods, from the "learning in doing" guided technique ( group facilitation ), to allow students to personally participate in the creative thinking of a set of methodology implementation process, from learning to create a campus culture product development. In addition, students must form a development team about 4-6 person to participate in a public school competition, thoroughly complete the course of implementation. The curriculum also arranged many experts, giving the students many guidance as well as practical experience.
This study used qualitative research method of observation and depth interviews, randomly selected from two courses taught in a total of 17 students, to understand the responser’s ideas for the Tung-Hai University campus culture, the experience of attending the courses, campus culture product development process, as well as team cooperation. This study found a very in-depth understanding to help student’s creativity by curriculum, and the advantages or disadvantages of students to develop campus culture product and venture planning; expect to establish a campus culture product development framework and venture mechanisms within schools. From the course opening, until the practice of entrepreneurship.
This study proposed eight propositions, can be divided into the discovery of development campus cultural asset and creativity can be learned and improved two parts. In the discovery of development campus cultural assets: 1.the campus culture, the scope of assets is very broad; 2.the traditional way to manufacture campus product can not satisfied the consumers in the market; 3.to development the assets of campus culture, it is necessary to go from top to down; 4.the development of campus cultural assets, the school, teachers and students can get many benefits.The creativity can be learned and improved can be divided into: 1.the interdisciplinary teamwork, to creativity, and completion the project would have a positive effect; 2, it is useful to inspire the creativity of students by offering curriculum; 3, school education should be increased more curriculums that aim to stimulate the student’s creativity; 4, in the process of developing the project, the protagonist are the students, The school and the teachers are only playing the role of assistance and guidance.
